Re: Spiders Take Out Larger Prey

camel spiders are wicked. gotta few buddies over in the middle east that have told me about em. theyve literally been given permission to shoot them because they are killers. lol. they hide in everything and run towards humans and chase them. id be scared shitless if a spider was chasin me. its like the chestbusters from alien.
Phoneutria are the most aggressive Spiders in the world.
Their venom is 3 times more potent than that of the Black Widow, and they run at you and they're damn quick too watch this vid.

There are 8 different species of Phoneutria.
Keyserlingi are brighter in colour, your pic Shazza looks like Nigriventer.
They don't build webs they wander the Jungle/Forest floor hence the nickname Wandering Spider

damn and black widows are only the size of a quarter, that looks like a baby guarder snake, both are down here, the snake is harmless, but the spider will fuck you up

They are indeed the largest tarantulas known to us. "Goliath birdeater" is a bit of a misnomer, however, in that is exaggerated.. the main staple of their diet is insects in general.. they rarely eat vertebrates, i.e baby birds, but that's something that might take a while to get into. :P

Re: Spiders Take Out Larger Prey

i heard a story from a friend who served in iraq about a spider they get there, (possibly a camel spider?) that was particularly good and making its way into the soldiers boots, biting the foot but injecting an anasthetic type poison which numbed the area, and would then eat the flesh away on the foot. Im not sure how true this is, but if it is, its fucked up!

Nah... camel spiders have some very potent *venom (poison has to be breathed or ingested, venom is injected), but they have no way to utilize it.. you would have to use a syringe to extract it from the camel spider and then manually inject it into someone.. camel spiders have painful bites due to their strong jaws, not their venom. :)
