Re: Schizophrenic Audio and Visual Hallucination Simulation

I went through this for about 2 weeks after a horrific acid trip. Everytime I closed my eyes this shit would happen.

Re: Schizophrenic Audio and Visual Hallucination Simulation

I have had what are called `schizotype-psychotic episodes` in the past.. I was first diagnosed with schizophrenia at 22 years old, although later in the same year this diagnosis was changed to one of `schizotypical psychopathic personality disorder` which means I am not quite the same as a schizophrenic, although sometimes I do hallucinate, but my hallucinations are nothing like what we see in this video.

I see things that could be real, ie. not monsters and stuff like that. I might get a knock at my door and open it to find some friends from years ago visiting me. This actually happened about 5 years ago. I let my friends in, we drank coffee, talked and then they disappeared from the sofa right before my eyes. I thought I had fallen asleep and they had left. However my housemate told me he had found me talking to myself that day and I was totally unresponsive to him. I called my friends who had visited only to find out that they had not been to see me. That was an embarrassing conversation.
Sometimes when my eyes are closed I do see horrific faces, though I cannot compare this horror to the type we see in horror films. It is not at all gore-based. It is often a face so frightening that I cannot describe it in words, only that it is the worst thing you could ever see in your life. Fortunately I know very well this is originating in my mind and not an external threat.
I also have auditory hallucinations though rarely. Again I know these are coming from inside my mind but it sounds the same as real sound and I cannot make it stop. Trying to make it stop by concentrating actually makes it worse. These are often multi-track noises. Weird synthetic sounds playing at the same time as voices that say nonsensical words. Often I hear this speech repeated, layered over noises -
`Ik wildow dickel octabuss cosell entric dia corenn jongonn lokliokel....` For some unknown reason my brain plays that a lot.`

I am not paranoid, I do not have delusions that people want to hurt me, and I have never acted in an aggressive way in public because of my hallucinations. If anything they make me withdrawn and reclusive. I do not take medicine anymore as it was causing Parkinsonism and made me unable to experience pleasure, excitement or humour.

I go to work everyday. Most people in the world have no idea about my condition. This is my psychosis.

Re: Schizophrenic Audio and Visual Hallucination Simulation

I have had the visions, but they're never intense like this video. I've seen doors opening and closing over and over, but my wife would tell me it is not happening. I'd just lay there and try to figure out how I'm seeing something that is not real present itself as being very real to me. The majority of the time it is just music playing that no one hears. I used to think it was always something logical. Like hearing 80's power ballads and then go, oh it must be a radio on the roof

Re: Schizophrenic Audio and Visual Hallucination Simulation

I'm talking a schizophrenic girl once: he was on antipsychotics but he talking to me like a normal person, she sad she sometimes hear voices in her head who want to command her

Talk to your psychiatrist and try medicine called Zyprexa: that is one of the best medicine for schizophrenia

Re: Schizophrenic Audio and Visual Hallucination Simulation

I forget: before using Zyprexa think carefully about the patient that really need the medicine because Zyprexa is one of the strongest antipsychotic drug that causes significant changes both in thinking and in the sexual life!
So only recommended in severe cases of schizophrenia, taking Zyprexa

Only simple nervousness use Xanax but only as much as necessary because Xanax is highly addictive

Re: Schizophrenic Audio and Visual Hallucination Simulation

My brother is a paranoid schizophrenic. He is now 53 years old and still denies that there's anything wrong with him. He has to live in a nursing home so they can be sure he takes his meds. He has 2 felonies against him from years ago. He punched holes in the walls of one of his apartments because there were cameras filming him 24 hours a day(in his head). Never found any cameras, just his first felony. Next apartment he said the neighbors were trying to get inside his head and when he went to sleep, they were goona come in and use his cooking utensils. So he proceeded to throw his microwave so hard out the window (from his 2nd floor) it went into the window of the building next door. Thank God no one was hurt, but there was his 2nd felony. He has blocked it out that he was ever in jail or did anything. The judge ordered he has to reside in a nursing home and they make sure he takes his meds. If he ever gets another apartment, he will stop the meds again, do something like before and 3rd felony is automatically prison. Sorry to vent so much, but we've been through this for 43 years. It started when he was ten.

Re: Schizophrenic Audio and Visual Hallucination Simulation

If people in the UK with mental illness refuse to take their medication daily or aren't able to remember it, they get a depot injection into their bum that lasts for 2-3 weeks. If they don't turn up for the depot and become erratic and dangerous to themselves or others then they are detained (sectioned) under the mental health act in a hospital and given a depot whether they like it or not. Its not a great system or solution but that's just how it goes. I'm a voice-hearer which is part of my psychotic depression but I take my tablets each day for my own quality of life. I'm also a qualified psychiatric nurse so I can see this from both sides.
I am English so was treated in the UK as a young man. In some respects I am glad my diagnosis was so serious (I am diagnosed psychopath with schizotypical depressive disorder).
As a psychiatric nurse you may well know there are no half measures regarding the treatment of psychopathy. It requires either mandatory detention in a specialist psychiatric unit, equivalent to a whole-life term in custody, or conservative out-patient care. In England I would have to go to Broadmoor for life if there existed the suspicion that I will definitely harm someone. For my assessment I was examined by three psychiatrists, and thank God, their recommendations to the Home Secretary were that I should be allowed a place in society and receive out-patient care.
However I did have to submit a DNA sample to the police, should anything ever happen I will be easily traceable. I was then overtly and closely followed by the police for several months. This was not a hallucination. And I had to attend regular appointments with psychiatrists and doctors for several years, from 1996 up until late 2007.
In these appointments I have been treated appallingly by some doctors. One in particular, I shall name the irresponsible bastard - Doctor Herbert of Buxton Road Medical Practice threatened me explicitly to my face on more than one occassion. My first appointment with him in 1996 was ridiculous. He had his feet on the desk and was smoking a cigarette and I was rather stunned to see this. Then the first words from his mouth were "What the fuck are you looking at ?"
I did not react violently. I did not know how to react. I was horrified and became withdrawn and did not engage him much in the interview, except as necessary. I have since learned that he was trying to provoke a response, as a threat of violence towards a doctor was enough to get me a lifetime pass to Broadmoor. Another question he threw at me one day was "Do you think you're hard or something ? " He then prescribed me a chemical lobotomy (massive doses of thioridazine, flupenthixol and procyclidine), which I naively took. It took me until the year 2004 before I really felt normal again and that I could watch comedy on TV and laugh again. I didn't laugh for about 7 years after the drug cocktail. Now I feel okay again. I also learned last year that another psychiatrist had written in his notes that I had admitted to burning my school down. This was simply not true, I never said that. Fortunately this was investigated and a note exists on my file that this was probably a contrived fantasy of mine and had not taken place. However the intent was there - to get me locked up for the rest of my natural life.
As I started to recover in the last 10 years the realization hit me, of what some of those doctors were trying to do, and it made me angry. I even entertained the idea of paying them a visit now that I am strong and healthy, and giving them a fucking good hiding as payment for their evil deception and for the emotional pain they put me through, but there lies the irony. If I went back to beat them severely for being so wrong about me and trying to destroy my life, well that would absolutely prove that everything they said about me was right. If I ever stood over their beaten bodies and unleashed my anger into them, that in itself would defeat my reason for being angry with them in the first place, that they had misjudged me. So I let it go. And I learned to grow as a compassionate human. I live on my own and always will. I still have to avoid situations where verbal confrontation and emotional attachment can occur together. I have made my home with 3 cats, Buster Sharkey and Stinker and I love them dearly and dont worry ! I would never ever harm an animal especially my 3 best friends in the world and they saved me from a lonely life. Sorry for such a long reply, my only point is that psychiatry in the UK has some very dark and nasty areas that most people cannot even imagine exist. I understand there are good reasons for this - it is to protect innocent people from me, but I am a person too and what they did to me really hurt me, and that goes against everything that Hippocrates intended medicine to be used for.
Thanks for sharing your personal story also, it made me feel better that I am not the only person on here with some mad stuff going around my brain and you are proof that it need not be a hinderance to a succesful career. I hope you stay well, and have lots of happy peace

Re: Schizophrenic Audio and Visual Hallucination Simulation

My friends older brother before he died was diagnosed PS and whenever asked about it would say it was nothing just all in his head. He had his struggles but his meds kept him "normal" and for the most part you wouldn't know he had a MD! He had a great sense of humor and was very smart and able to solve problems when he was "on". Withdrawn at times but would only last a day or so and wouldn't elaborate as to what went on inside his head at those times.
