I expected to see a bunch of Harleys with some bad ass Hell's Angels or Pagans. Some of them looked like mopeds.

At first, the bikers are riding as a pack with this SUV in the middle. Why? They get entirely too close to the SUV. Then, if you look at the very beginning, a biker does something like a "brake check" right into the left front bumper of the SUV and ends up with a broken leg. That was an accident but it could have been avoided with safer driving by the biker, imo. After that, with the gang surrounding the car, the driver for some reason "bolts" and in the process hits three more bikers. His story (which I think is believable) is that he feared for his family. Frankly, I don't blame him. A huge gang of bikers surrounding you like that is intimidating. He may have thought they had targeted him. Had they all backed off and let him deal with the one biker and maybe a couple others, this whole thing could have been handled safely. Get his license plate & report it? Sure. Run him down and terrorize him and potentially cause other "accidents"? Ah,.....no.

I am not positive who is at fault, but the driver very well could have been in fear for his and his family's safety. We can't tell what words were exchanged between parties. I don't think any one should hit someone with a vehicle and leave, but.....I reserve judgement just as Darkest Angel.

It appeared to me that the one biker started it by obviously brake-checking the SUV, a stupid move in todays world given the sheer amount of firearms out there. I think the SUV driver could have made a defending his and his families life case fairly easily here if he were to have shot someone. Particulary the dude smashing out his window with his helmet.

I'd side with the driver for the most part. The biker being hit from behind was his own fault for getting so close and braking. I don't really think the driver should have bolted at that point though, intimated or not. He should have pulled over, stayed in his car and called the cops if anything. After he took off I would side with the bikers. A couple guys I ride with carry pieces of rebar with them or something similar to "defend" themselves. If I was riding and a friend got hit because of something he did..and the driver took off..I'd totally go after the driver too.
