not to mention, if you have an animal that large, that is that visible in the water; where does it hide, how does it feed without destroying the ecosystem, how did it grow this large, are there more and how to they breed?

Anaconda Profile

Although their color varies, black patches on the anaconda's back are consistent (the green anaconda is the largest). These serve as camouflage in its wet vegetation of its swampy habitat. The full length of an anaconda snake is thought to be up to 110 ft. Like the crocodile, the anaconda's nostrils are on top of its snout so it can breathe easily while swimming.

Habitat

The anaconda snake lives throughout tropical South America (Amazon and Orinoco basins, and in the Guianas) and through Trinidad. (end page)

Behavior

Anacondas are nocturnal and sunbathe in trees or shallows during the day. They hunt alone when active.

Many anaconda pictures show their characteristic aggression in captivity, although they do not eat people. Still, they are popular in the exotic pet trade.

Anaconda attacks are stealthy. They hunt at waters edge waiting for its prey to drink. In one strike they pull their prey underwater and drown them. Their diet is mainly composed of fish and reptiles, but they also pursue birds, small mammals-deer, piccaries, and rodents on land. Anaconda snakes have a special jaw attachment that allows it to swallow large animals (up to 6’). A meal of this size will take several weeks to digest. Scientists believe that female anaconda require additional food intake to survive the long gestation period (6 months); Females have been known to practice cannibalism on their smaller male counterparts if they do not find an exceptionally large meal.

Nothing unusual in a snake of the length reported in this article found in this type of habitat, it's hard to judge the scale but I would say from the height the picture appears to be taken we're looking at an object that is much larger than 100 feet in length.

Re: Picture of 100ft-long 'snake' Sparks Fears of Mythical Monster in Borneo

In the first photo the snake is too high in the water. The wave disturbances are in the wrong place, not in proportion and they are all the same. They are shopped in, of course. In the second foto for it to be real the snake would not ride so high in the water unless it was an air snake . Snakes just don't float like that. Get a snake and drop it in water. Take photos as it swims away. Take from down low and up high. Mark out the waves it creates with it's moving body. On low angles take note of what percentage of it's body is above the water line. Knowing that at very least a person can make a much better fake. These fakes are infantile. Like a child making a stick figure and calling it a photo.

Definitely fakes, but you never know what might exist in some remote jungle somewhere.

Re: Picture of 100ft-long 'snake' Sparks Fears of Mythical Monster in Borneo

I feel like bitch-slapping myself for even coming to this thread with the idea that POSSIBLY something was spotted; WITHOUT pics or vids that look a epilectic having seizures filmed it(too shaky)
Its the most pathetic attempt of a special effects vid I have seen in many a'moon,so why even bother keep making them knowing how lousy they look,if you cant do a good fake vid then step aside for others who are more convincing.
