First Human X-Ray: Anna Bertha Rontgen's Hand, December 22, 1895
Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen made a radiograph of his wife Anna Bertha Röntgen's left hand on December 22, 1895, weeks after discovering the rays that would become known as X-rays. The image, titled "Hand mit Ringen," or "Hand with Rings," is widely regarded as the first X-ray image of a human body part. The radiograph shows the bones of her fingers and palm, with a ring appearing as a dark shape on her ring finger. Röntgen distributed prints of his experimental images to other scientists, helping demonstrate that the new rays could reveal structures inside the body without surgery. He received the first Nobel Prize in Physics in 1901 for his discovery. Also covered here: Photographic Time Line

That is incredible! These people truly must always be remembered for such an amazing contribution without which we could not have accurate diagnosis, surgery, etc. These inventors are heros too!
