Pablo Escobar's Abandoned Bonaire Property 2013
Two friends of mine are on vacation and they took these photos on 10/15/13. I found them to be fascinating and thought I would share them!! Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria (December 1, 1949*– December 2, 1993) was a wealthy Columbian drug lord and elusive cocaine trafficker. Before his death in 1993, he was investing his money heavily into real estate. This is his property in Bonaire, which obviously didn't get completed before he met his fate. The tourism folks on Bonaire don't care to brag about it but the locals kind of do. The place is huge and has one of the best views on the island. Photos courtesy of my two friends who are currently visiting Bonaire.  I was not able to insert the text under directly under each photo, so I apologize for the annoying format I have used.  I hope you enjoy!!  In the photos you will see various shots; 1.The hotel's nearly finished side 2. Unfinished area with damage from vandals 3. Unfinished area with a view 4. Pablo's castle 5. Bonaire is one of the premier scuba diving spots in the world. They have SEVERE boat restrictions in the area so almost no pollution. My friend goes every year. Thank you for the pics! Fantastic! |
