I had to read several firsthand accounts in college, and later read many more in my free time. Total insanity, so many women and children obliterated with no strategic purpose what so ever. Bombing started when a circus was being held for refugees, and the two later bomb runs were timed to inflect the most damage possible to firemen and remaining civilians cleaning up. One of the few firestorms ever created.

Yeah they did it for fun, they were playing darts and threw em at a map of nazi germany wherever the dart hit they just flatten. No strategy or point whatsoever.

As I have said before on this subject, we have the luxury of not knowing total war, when Dresden and other cities where bombed (in the same way London, Glasgow, Coventry etc had been bombed by the Germans in the UK and other innumeral towns and cities across the invaded Eupope the people living had experienced TWO WORLD WARS STARTED BY THE SAME NATION.
They where determined to knock the arrogance and fight out of them, the last thing they wanted was another war being started by Germany in the 1960's then 80's etc.

It is so easy with no experience or understanding of the horrors created by the nation to say "oh what a terrible thing the allies did" remember this much, if your not German and speak a different language to them stand up applaude and thank your forefathers for giving their lives and youth so you have the luxury of ignorance.

Do you feel the same sympathy for the thousands of peasant villages and towns completely obliterated in the Eastern assault made by Germany through the lands we later came to knock as the Eastern Block? More people where burned in their homes during these savage face to face attacks of German soldiers against peasant farmers and their families as they where shut into their wooden homes and burnt alive than will ever be known. Stalingrad is famous because it is a symbol of all the towns destroyed.

Stop being fucking ignorant and read more, its out there if you can be arsed to be less blinkered.
