If black people create and speak AAVE then who are you to say what it is it is not? just like English the language that he comes from AAVE is ever evolving and changing so whatever Black people say it is, is what it is!!! That is why why it was so hard for all of you to understand it. We don’t speak the same AAVE from slavery. The 80s or even the 90s some of it survived but as we evolve so does AAVE. I understood it perfectly. AAVE was created purposely for only black understand to understand. So when you guys are over here trying to make fun of it that means it’s working effectively we did not want to speak like white people. We had no choice but to learn English so we made it into our own language as much as we can to separate our identity from White people. I work in a hospital and a white man asked me once why even educated black people speak it still. And there’s your answer. There’s your “why”. We DONT want it to come off as proper English. Once upon a time it was illegal for black people to be educated so they adapted it so round as uneducated as possible so we could disguise our intelligence around white people. Some of that uneducated influence remains and we use it as fun now. |
