Re: Pictures From Brandon Lee White's Motorcycle Accident in Oklahoma
I would think probably head trauma, the roller doors on trucks are bloody strong, after all they're designed to stop 20+ tons of cargo sliding out of the back and onto the road, so hitting one at 120mph, or 65mph faster than the truck should have been travelling, isn't going to be good. Even a top quality helmet isn't designed to absorb that kind of impact. His neck would have been in compression in the impact which rarely causes a broken neck though it may well have bulged or fractured vertebrae and caused the discs to compress but that would only be a problem if he had survived. If it wasn't head trauma that killed him then my next probability would be strangulation caused by the helmet chin strap. But my guess would be head trauma, if you look at the picture of him in his casket and compare it to the living pictures of him you can see that his lower jaw has clearly been pushed back some distance and the shape of his head doesn't look quite right which would suggest massive blunt force trauma to the skull causing underlying soft tissue (brain) injuries that would very likely have been instantly fatal...

Re: Pictures From Brandon Lee White's Motorcycle Accident in Oklahoma
You would think, but if you look at the picture of him in the back of the truck you can see that his feet are hardly touching the road and his legs aren't at all. His shoes are missing, and other photos and information suggest that he always wore proper motorcycle boots when riding his bike, and those boots are seriously tough so it would take a lot of dragging along the road to pull them off his feet. If the other sources I've read are correct (and they all largely agree on this point) the truck driver was only alerted when one of his motorcycle boots was torn off and bounced up and hit the front of a following vehicle (this is, or was at the time of the collision, an unlit stretch of road) whose driver then flagged the truck driver down. The only reason to expect severe leg damage or separation would be if the legs were continually being smashed against the road, which is unlikely as trailer suspension is specially designed to protect the load as far as is safely possible, or if he was being dragged at high speed but I understand the speed limit for trucks on this section of road is 55mph. The fact that the picture shows his socks still in place but starting to be drawn off strongly suggests that the truck stopped very soon after the loss of the footwear, so the evidence seems to support the story...

Re: Pictures From Brandon Lee White's Motorcycle Accident in Oklahoma
There was another, similar case to this reported, I believe either in India or somewhere in the Far East where a moped rider did much the same thing into the back of a box van but survived, and indeed, walked away after being released by the van driver. That was, however, a much lower speed collision as it happened in very heavy, slow moving commuter traffic...
