Serial Killer Larry Eyler Crime Scene Photos
Larry Eyler, a convicted serial killer, known as the "Highway Killer," was implicated in the murders of at least 21 young men and boys in the early 1980s. Eyler died of complications from AIDS in prison on March 6, 1994, at the age of 41. Born on December 21, 1952, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, Eyler's crimes spanned across several Midwestern states, including Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Eyler's modus operandi involved picking up hitchhikers or young men from gay bars and binding, torturing, and ultimately killing them. His victims were often discarded along highways, leading to his notorious moniker. Eyler was arrested in 1984 and convicted in 1986 for the murder of 15-year-old Daniel Bridges. He was sentenced to death, which was later commuted to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. In a dramatic turn of events shortly before his death, Eyler confessed to multiple other murders and provided detailed accounts, in hopes of clearing the cases of innocent individuals and bringing closure to the families of the victims. The confessions revealed a gruesome portrait of a violent predator who targeted vulnerable individuals. |
