I don’t know anyone with clout who’d say Rader is overrated. He was brilliant, talented even. He just miscalculated the growing role of technology in forensics. His entire generation did. Had he kept up, we’d likely never have known his name.

The idea of murdering girls has aroused me since I was a child. I've always wondered what kept me from becoming like one of these serial killers. Good parenting? A sense of empathy? Whatever it is, I'm damn glad for it, because fuck these people who put their own pleasure before other people's lives.  |
