Crime Scene Photos From Serial Killer Charles Albright
Albright's known murders occurred in the early 1990s. His victims were typically sex workers whom he shot and then mutilated post-mortem. The precision with which the eyeballs were removed indicated a level of skill and knowledge in anatomy, contributing to the macabre signature of his killings. Before the murders, Albright had a history of lesser crimes, including theft. However, it was the brutal nature of his murders and the mutilation of his victims that catapulted his case into the national spotlight. His background also included an interest in taxidermy from a young age, a detail that later became a focal point in the investigation and trial, given the nature of his crimes. Albright was arrested in 1991 following forensic evidence that linked him to the crimes. In 1994, he was convicted of the murder of one of his victims, Shirley Williams, and received a life sentence. While he was suspected in other cases, a lack of conclusive evidence meant that he was not tried for those crimes.
