Crime Scene Images From The Munich Massacre
The Munich Massacre was a horrific terrorist attack that occurred during the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, West Germany. On September 5, 1972, a group of Palestinian terrorists known as Black September infiltrated the Olympic Village and took members of the Israeli Olympic team hostage. The tragic events that unfolded during this attack resulted in the deaths of 11 Israeli athletes and coaches and one West German police officer. The terrorists, seeking the release of Palestinian prisoners held in Israel and two German left-wing extremists in West German jails, initially captured 11 members of the Israeli team. In an ensuing standoff with the West German police, demands were made, and negotiations ensued, but these efforts ultimately failed to secure a peaceful resolution. The situation escalated when German authorities attempted a rescue operation at the Fürstenfeldbruck airbase, where the terrorists and hostages were transferred by helicopter. The rescue attempt went awry, leading to a chaotic exchange of gunfire. By the end of the ordeal, all 11 Israeli hostages, five of the eight terrorists, and one German police officer were dead. |

Re: Crime Scene Images From The Munich Massacre
Mossad tried to track down and kill all those that were allegedly responsible for the Munich massacre (Operation Wrath of God, lasted more than 20 years). There is one that got away, though. Three gunmen survived in Munich and two of them were later killed by Mossad. One of them is still hiding somewhere in Africa, if he's still alive. They never found him.

Re: Crime Scene Images From The Munich Massacre
Great post. The movie "Munich" is a must-see if you find this interesting. It was well done, and I hope the rest of it - after the initial bombing - is how s**t went down!
