Likely died of massive trauma to the femoral artery in her left leg. Severing the femoral artery will cause you to lose consciousness in as little as 15 to 30 seconds, death occurs within minutes. This would explain both her pallid color while having her pulse checked, and her faint pulse despite being non-responsive. |

Sorry for the multiposting, hate not having an edit button. Basically severing your femoral artery is for practical purposes analogous to the rupture of a thoracic artery. It carries an enormous volume of blood, and when severed often recedes up into the pelvic cavity, making it incredibly difficult to stop bleeding, even with a tourniquet. As a mainstream example, the scene where Josh Hartnet and Medic are attempting to clamp a soldiers femoral... this is not my only example simply the one i assume you all will know. |
