Camden Catacombs, London, England
these are a network of tunnels built in the 19th Century underneath camden town and camden markets, the tunnels were mainly used to store cattle like horses and ponies that were being used for the construction of rail ways, there is also an under ground flooded area used to store boats that operated on near by canals. as a result these are not traditional catacombs because no one was buried here, nor were any religious practices carried out, the name camden catacombs is more a nickname given to these passages. |
