Re: DR's Official MMA Thread Pt. 2
Best possible scenario for all involved: Get's hype and moves the needle. Put's focus on Tony and Khabib. Light's a fire under McGregor's ass(gives him something to fight for again). Set's the stage for an even bigger fight in August for the belt. Haters get to see Conor stripped. Dick-riders get to see Conor as the underdog again. Dana get's to be the Vince McMahon of the UFC/WME. |

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread Pt. 2
“He can’t hold up the title, can’t hold up the whole division,” White said on the Toucher and Rich radio show (transcribed by Ryan Harkness for Uproxx). “There’s a lot of guys that I have to deal with every day that aren’t worth the aggravation. This kid is worth the aggravation and I have so much respect for him, what he’s accomplished, what he’s done. If he wants to ride off into the sunset with his money for the rest of his life, I don’t blame him. And if he wants to come back and fight, we’ll get him back in. He just can’t hold the division hostage.” “You take the belt,” he replied. “In any sport, the NBA, the NFL, hockey, whatever it may be. No one guy can hold the whole sport hostage. It just doesn’t happen. When Conor was getting ready for this Mayweather fight, I was already making plans for Conor to never come back. The company and the business goes on, and there will be other stars. The NBA didn’t roll it up and pack it up when Jordan left. And they won’t when LeBron goes either. The list goes on and on.” |

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread Pt. 2
My thoughts exactly. It doesn't make sense for him to come back to fight for a title he was just stripped of, which is a shame because he's still in his prime. GSP is old-school and will never callout a smaller guy. Conor may return for Tony Ferg if he beats khibib. The money fight is with Manny Pacheco if thats what he wants. Either way, Conor holds all the cards. The company needs him more than he needs the UFC at this point. |

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread Pt. 2
Well, the Turk had nothing for DC....#andStill ..and the hype train came to a screeching halt(once again) for Ngannou. Seems fishy, Francis acted 'out of it' from the jump. Congrats to Stipe though; not sure where he goes from here, but unless Cain comes back, he's pretty much cleared-out the division. |

Re: DR's Official MMA Thread Pt. 2
Two good dudes going at it. Should be an interesting matchup stylistically. DC weighs in at around 235 lb come fight night, so the weight advantage, if any, is not significant. DC may even have a wrestling advantage because of his "short" height and low center of gravity. Curious if DC can take Stipe’s punches. Could get interesting in the later rounds if he can.
