If a fighter is getting grounded and pounded and cannot intelligently defend himself and the ref steps in...that is a classic TKO. If the guy gets drilled and knocked unconscious ...that is a KO. In other words TKO = omg, he got pwned KO= omg, i hope hes okay!! Now let me make my point. Ko's and tko's are classified under the same criteria in mma and are used interchangeably. I'm sure you are familiar with Performance bonuses in the UFC? Well Micheal Bisping won 50 k for Knockout of the night (KO). Here's another example. Anderson Silva has a 60% ko/tko ratio. |
