Stigmata Pictures From Those That Claim To Be Effected
Stigmata are wounds that seem to appear spontaniously on very religious people and that resemble the wounds of Jesus on the cross. Also crying tears of blood is commonly known as stigmata. The 1st one to have had these marks is St. Francis of Assisi.

Re: Stigmata Pictures From Those That Claim To Be Effected
Well, nowadays scientists are convinced that hanging was not done through nails through the hands, but rather through the wrists, because hands can not support the weight of the body. So the wounds these people have on their hands do not really resemble the wounds of Christ. Strangely after they found out about this, stigmata began to appear on the wrists.... A lot of people with stigmata were imposters, they did it just for the money people pay to see the so called miracles. But the mind can do strange things. Very religious people have reportedly had sightings of holy men and women or go into a trance in which they experience the same pain that Jesus had, when he was hanging on the cross. This has been documented and it was not fake. I personally think these people suffer from a form of religious psychosis in which they see and feel things that are not real to us, but very real to them. The catholic church is very careful to make statements about stigmata, as they know there are a lot of imposters. Padre Pio however (1st 2 pics) was granted sainthood after his death, although earlier the church distanced itself from his stigmata. Strangely after his death, there were no marks left of the stigmata on his hands and feet. Not even scars...... |
