Enlighten yourself beyond the puppets and the make pretend history books that do little more than confuse and tell outright lies to us. Try to track down and find any Russian civilian that was around during WWII that had the opportunity to meet a Nazi soldier during WWII. You'll find that they were happy to see them! Why? Well they gave the little rations they had to the starved Russian women and children and treated them with decency!

I've been fortunate enough to have met these people and one in particular (ex-gf's grandmother) who's family was almost starved to death because her food went to the Red Army. She was fed by a Nazi and tells her daughter, her grand kids and great grand kids many war stories from a perspective that I doubt anyone on this site would ever hear first hand. I was shocked. I thought she was lying but she swore by it. It opened my ignorant eyes to realize that there is more to the stories we are fed (that's why we are on this site anyway right? To see what the mass media doesn't show?).

Multiple families that I even know personally have fondness for the Nazis because while they were accused of "mass murder of jews" they were decent to the innocent "enemy" civilians they ran into. Russians were cold and barbaric. They'd storm houses, rape women and beat children (on either side, their own/their enemies) and steal what little they had. The stories are all out there. Talk to people from Belarus, Ukraine, other eastern-bloc countries, etc that lived during those times that ran into both a Russian or German soldier and you'd be shocked to hear that Russian civilians even hated their own bastard soldiers!

They were scum sent into battle weaponless expected to pick a weapon off of their dead comrade! I love Russians but their soldiers during WWII were marginally intelligent, the average chimp possessed more decency than they did.

You may not know that Russia has a high population of "neo Nazis". I personally believe from hearing first hand accounts that the grand children of these people that ran across the Nazis may have that fondness from the stories told of how decent they were. It is probably not true but the high population of Russian Neo Nazi's is very peculiar.

WWII was the first oil war, Germany and Japan didn't have enough and with the rise of the internal combustion engine, they knew they had to secure it somehow.

Roosevelt cutoff the supplies to Japan over their "greater east Asia coprosperity sphere" ploy and Japan tried to get the us outta the way at Pearl Harbor.

Hitler went for the oil fields of Romania and the Caucasus to secure a supply, while the Italians went for the Middle East

Hitler got his oil at first, but that dunce Mussolini fucked up the African campaign pretty bad, so the best troops went to help him til the Russian invasion, the the troops where sent to the eastern front

The rest was just collateral damage, many were worked to death in slave camps and then their bodies burned in the crematoriums, the racial aspect was an added bonus for that megalomaniac hitler.

Many Russians welcomed the German as rescuers at first, Stalin had treated them so bad, boy where they sorry once they saw the truth.

It's common military strategy to dehumanize your opponents, it's easier to get young men to kill people that look like them if you can convince them they are subhuman or inferior in some way

You do realize that Hungary was an axis power and fielded 2 waffen SS divisions in the Germany army, participating in the invasions of Yugoslavia and Russia?
