If you wish to judge the Japanese just realize that any nation is capable of these things once enough power is concentrated in enough hands and the rule of law breaks down. We are headed in that direction right now.

Agree with you there John, look at any nation and you see the depravity going on, now and in history. Congo with thier harsh civil war, nazi's and thier experiments and holocaust, the english with the slave trade. The list can go on.

What a moving and saddening set of photos. Thank you for posting. I'm relieved to see that no one thus far has made light of the wretchedness of the acts documented in these photos. How could anyone rape and murder innocent babies? Makes me question humanity.
