Re: Hotel Owner Pouring Acid in the Pool While Black People Swim in It, Ca. 1964
this is a bunch of bullshit - that jug he's holding is muriatic acid, otherwise known as hydrochloric acid. you use it to clean masonry and indeed they use it as a cleaner of pool water. i assure you, no acid that will do serious damage to the body is stored in a plain plastic jug and this whole article just takes the real incident out of context

This is a true statement; well said. For some reason people thought that a couple of hundred years of treating ****** as sub-humans in this country was going to stop overnight due to integration. |

Wow, how do people like that live with themselves? You gotta be a pretty sick person to think of pouring acid into a pool of people.

Although hydrochloric acid might be the mildest of the strong acids (if he'd used hydrofluoric acid or hydroiodic acid, there would've definitely been casualties), many of the more corrosive strong acids can also be stored in plastic containers. Only few strong acids are so corrosive and aggresive that they need to be stored in a teflon lined steel or glass bottle. Just thought I'd point that out ... Didn't they continue lynching people until the 60's or 70's in the US? The hypocrisy always amazes me when some Americans claim that it was through their boycott that the South-African apartheid regime fell, even though they were doing exactly the same up until just a few decades before that. |

Re: Hotel Owner Pouring Acid in the Pool While Black People Swim in It, Ca. 1964
This is blown slightly out of proportion... I used to work on pools when I was an apartment maintenance worker a few years back. Muriatic acid is used to lower the pH of a pool. Pools are required by law to be within a certain pH range, too low or too high and you have to add either muriatic acid or soda ash respectively. They can be safely stored in those plastic jugs and spills arent even a huge deal. Ive spilled some on my skin a number of times, and while it stings like a mother fucker as long as you wash it off right away there is no serious danger. The bigger danger is the fumes, which can make you really light headed real quick. I've accidentally sniffed unlabeled bottles of the acid without knowing what was in there and it was much more uncomfortable than getting it on my skin. All in all tho its really not as bad as it sounds, its just the word "acid" that freaks people out. HOWEVER... When muriatic acid is needed it is rarely more than like a cup at a time every few hours until the pH is corrected, and you are supposed to kick people out of the pool before use (or just do it early in the morning before people use the pool). This dude looks to be emptying a full bottle and right in front of them, which makes him a huge dick, but its really unlikely anything more than a mild stinging was a result. |

Re: Hotel Owner Pouring Acid in the Pool While Black People Swim in It, Ca. 1964
This is true. One of the reasons whites did so well in their conquests was because we had been living in more or less open sewers for generations. Our bugs were hardcore, and clean New World people got buttfucked hard. One little-known fact is underwear is an invention of the French aristocracy, who bathed so infrequently and had such expensive clothes, it was easier to just create a barrier between their fetid genitals and their silken robes. |

Yeah that's true. And the wealthy doused themselves in perfumes rather than wash their pits and privates. While Africans and other indigenous peoples bathed regularly in rivers and lakes. But that's Anglo Saxon ******* for ya! |
