The behavior of the Japanese in conducting war was by far the most atrocious of the axis powers. Stopping the war via the two atomic strikes likely saved millions of Japanese lives had an invasion been necessary, because they would never have surrendered. They were convinced the Americans were cannibals, and before the post-surrender landing of allied troops in Japan, the Americans had to launch a propaganda campaign to try and stop the huge number of Japanese suicides taking place. |
