I remember the same thing happened in one of the southern states (US) a little more than a decade or so ago. However this young boy was thought to have been kidnapped while playing hide and seek. That is until his mother stumbled across his body locked inside one of those super large early version micro waves. The door locked on him and he, like this poor little boy I assume, suffocated. What a terrible way to go.
