Wowwieee.... that can still happen today, not much they can do for you if you contract it... I think there is 1 recorded case ever of surviving it! Not good odds. Fascinating to see how the foaming at the mouth developed

A rabid animal is put to sleep, why aren't all confirmed cases in humans at least medicine punched into into unconsciousness. Cruel and unnecessary suffering, almost sadistic treatment, or lack thereof. Cujo was scary, but Ol Yeller brought this terror home to me as a little kid...Great find!

I read somewhere that the backstory on this was that the men consented to be videotaped for medical documentation. Nowadays, rabies victims are given sedatives to ease their passing. For me, the most depressing things in the world are the videos of kids with rabies on YouTube. |

Probably even before they were using gloves - since that nurse was using her BARE HANDS to mop up the saliva from his mouth.  Rabies is in the saliva, not the blood - so that's the quickest way of getting it - sticking your hands in an infected mouth.  |
