the 5th one up from the bottom the family looks murdered both parents have head wounds it seems also most of the ppl are so creepy looking its hard to tell which ones are the dead ones but great set i think there are 2 or 3 other threads with this topic need to get them all together |

From what I understand, and I have read a little bit into the subject of Momento Mori, the living are not trying to hold on to the dead, it's simply a way of remembering their loved ones as many families didn't have a single photo of the individual during life. It was very common back then and helped with the grieving process. When WWI came along and the bodies were returned home bloated, disfigured, or completely destroyed, the process of photographing the dead ended and over time became taboo. Now if you were to go into a funeral home and snap a pic of your dead loved one many would find it unusual and strange. As someone said before, those were different times.
