Re: US Launches Air Strikes on Syria Islamic State Militants
It has nothing to do with nukes. The issue is invading/annexing/controlling another nation, and how different nations attempt to justify it. Personally, I feel that Russia has a much stronger case for its support of Crimea than America had for its invasion of Iraq. But hey, that's just me |

I said to a point because there probably wouldn't be a civil war at all if Russia wasn't running the plays. Pro Russian Crimeans didn't have 50cal machine guns. Rocket launchers or mortars. And surface to air missiles? Russia does.

Re: US Launches Air Strikes on Syria Islamic State Militants
That's hard to say. When the Ukrainian President fled office he went to Crimea because the people there support him. Half of the Ukrainian soldiers from that area deserted to join the Crimean forces, and Crimea voted to leave. You could make the argument that Ukraine would have easily conquered Crimea, but where would it go from there? I can guarantee you Crimea would not just roll over. Then the whole issue of how the president was deposed comes into play. Ukrainian Constitution clearly outlined the impeachment process, and it wasn't followed. Legally, going by the Constitution, he is STILL the President of Ukraine. |
