What I wanna know is, where's the white lives matter movement? Where's the looting?

On Friday, August 28th, at 11:30 a.m., Bexar County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene of a possible domestic disturbance. When they arrived, they found a woman bleeding from a wound on her head and holding a baby who they say appeared to have possibly been injured as well.

Soon thereafter, a man by the name of Michael Thomas saw the deputies chasing a man and busted out his cell phone to record the situation.

“I was watching and wondering what was going on, but I couldn’t figure it out. I was like, with the things going on in the world, like different type of shootings with cops and different things like that, so I was like, ‘Well, maybe I can catch something with my camera,'” he told KSAT, an ABC affiliate out of San Antonio station that he purportedly sold the exclusive footage to.

The deputies, since identified as Greg Vasquez and Robert Sanchez, claim they tried to use non-lethal means to subdue the suspect, now identified as 41-year-old Gilbert Flores, but that the non-lethal force, Tasers and shields, didn’t have the desired effect, according to the sheriff’s office.

In the video, we see the shirtless suspect running through a front yard. The deputies follow him there. He then raises his hand and is shot. He was shot twice and died at the scene.

“He kind of just put his hands in the air. After he put his hands in the air, they shot him,” Michael Thomas added.


Susan Pamerleau, Bexar County Sheriff said, “Certainly what’s in the video is a cause for concern, but it’s important to let the investigation go through its course so that we can assure a thorough and complete review of all that occurred.”

The incident was only hours old at the time, so not a lot of information was readily available.

What we have learned, according to the Sheriff Pamerleau, was that Flores had allegedly injured an 18-month-old child and woman who were inside the home at the time.

“Two deputies attempted to arrest the individual and he resisted. They also used, tried to use, non-lethal force weapons to try and detain him, and after a lengthy confrontation, both deputies fired shots,” she said.

She also acknowledged that a video had surfaced and had been shared with the media. She went on to ask for anyone else that may have witnessed and/or had video of the incident, to please contact them immediately.

The man that captured the cellphone footage said he hopes his video helps the investigation.

“When things happen like that, I actually like to look into them and kind of see what’s the real story, instead of what people are just kind of saying,” he said.

The deputies, who have both been with the sheriff’s office for over 10 years, have been placed on administrative leave during the investigation into the shooting. This is standard procedure with the agency after an deputy-involved shooting.

Did you watch the video though? I was skeptical too, but he really does have his hands in the air and you can hear the two shots and he falls over dead. Happens at about 0:54 He's not even close to them. there are 2 of them.

The problem is I can see his right hand in the air but his left is obscured by the pole, if I could see both his hands up I would agree.
