Re: U.S.A. Is the 4th Greatest Country in the World

Education wise, we are below some "third world" cesspools. That SHOULD BE EMBARRASSING.
It's funny speaking to some immigrants about that. They like our universities but are appalled at the quality of education in our high schools.

Re: U.S.A. Is the 4th Greatest Country in the World

As a European who has family in the US and a few in Canada I always got the impression that both secretly consider the other a brother/sister. Sometimes a annoying sibling that makes you shake your head in shame but a sibling none the less.

Have to agree with kellyhound
Pretty much.

Culturally the northern states and Canada are almost identical.

Well America is the only country who's not allowed to have culture or heritage. We're supposed to be ashamed of our past.

No.
We just don't have a homogenous culture, and haven't had one for quote some time.
We have many cultures and many heritages, although we do share commonalities.

The difference is that we remember what it was like when there was the idea of homogenous cultural superiority... it wasn't exactly a good thing.

Still waiting for anyone to even define what constitutes a uniquely American culture.

....and that in a nutshell is why America is not even really a country anymore.

It was a nice experiment, but its over.

Tim Hortons has gone to hell, it was good because it was simple, they have a bigger menu then some restaurants now, its ludicrous.
