The corruption you see in American law enforcement doesn't start, nor end at you regular uniform, or detectives. They are a product of the old say'n "shit rolls down hill". So it all boils down too those local politicians squatting over the cities they were VOTED into, taking huge dumps.

NOPD is a prime example, they have been federally re-washed 5-7 times in the past 20 years. But the local gov. lets them, and even forces them into a new regime of corruption.

I read here that if you're not good enough for military, you end as a cop. I find that hilarious, because it is vice versa where I live. And somehow here cops don't shoot people for little.

And don't start with guns, my country is in top 2-5 what comes with them per people.

It is just a typical generalization. Most police are ex-military. In fact, in most recent practices, an ex-service person would get the slot before someone who went to votech training, or even in many cases college credits.

Yup...I've been to South Africa briefly around 1994...my impression was that it was a place barely in control...no issues with the coppers though. Haven't paid it any attention since they decided to let the damn Black communists take over without a fight.
