Teen Dies After Man Injects Her With Heroin At Party
Anchorage, Alaska – The man accused of injecting a 14-year-old girl with heroin is in even more trouble after the teen died the other day, having spent almost a week on life support. Police say 26-year-old Sean Warner, a navy veteran who served in the Afghanistan war as a medic, was with two other men when they picked up 14-year-old Jena Dolstad (Facebook) and took her back to Warner’s home to hang out. There the group used a variety of drugs, including heroin. Dolstad indicated she wanted to try the drug, but didn’t want to inject it herself. According to the court documents, that’s when Warner tried to inject her himself. First attempts were unsuccessful as he was unable to find a vein. So he had Dolstad lie on his bed and tied a belt around her arm before injecting her with 25 to 30 units of heroin. She was reportedly left alone in the room and was discovered the following morning face down in her own vomit. She was still alive, but unresponsive. Witnesses say Warner did not want to call 911, fearing what the cops may find in his home. That, and police usually frown on grown men injecting teen girls with heroin. So he decided to put some of his training to use and gave Dolstad the drug Suboxone, a drug used to treat opiate addicts that can block the effects of heroin. I guess Warner thought she would spring back to life and ask for pancakes, but Dolstad went into convulsions a couple hours later and 911 was finally called. Dolstad was taken to the hospital and placed on life support, having suffered damage to her heart and brain. She was also found to have heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine in her system. Six days later, she would die. Warner was initially charged with delivering a controlled substance to a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and evidence tampering. He was also charged with theft after stealing $900 worth of camera equipment from a Costco on the same day he injected Dolstad with the fatal dose of heroin. Now that Dolstad has died, Warner is also looking at charges of murder or manslaughter. · |
