I've kept my mouth shut so far but I'm too disgusted to stay silent anymore. The hatred and xenophobia in this thread makes me sick. The Syrians have endured terrible hardships. We here in safe, comfortable North America have NO idea how bad life has been for those people. If the refugees were white wealthy Christians or atheists no one would bat an eye. Fuck the lot of you. You have "NO idea how bad" anything is anywhere, you just want to believe weepy-eyed fairy-tales and anecdotal stories so you can feel good about yourself, and "morally superior" to the bad guys you've created in your mind. Want proof? What in the ever... loving... fuck... have you personally done to help these people? I mean this didn't happen over night. It wasn't a surprise. Have you sponsored a family or two? Are you housing them in your home right now? Did you go over there and give them medical treatment? If you want to make them feel welcome, why don't you don a burqa? What about the billions of other people who don't have life as good as you do? How about African children whose feet are eaten by worms daily? Do you want us to bring them over? Or don't you care about them, because it's not on CNN and the liberal talking points this week? Why don't you ever make it your responsibility, instead of getting pissed at other people and telling them what they should do, when you won't do anything yourself? |
