Sir Paul McCartney is to marry his girlfriend of four years.

The former Beatle, who is 68, has become engaged to 51-year-old New York businesswoman Nancy Shevell, who will become his third wife.

Sir Paul's publicist Stuart Bell did not give any further details but said: "We're all thrilled for him." The date of the wedding is not yet known.

Sir Paul's first wife, Linda, died of cancer in 1998. He married Heather Mills in 2002 and divorced in 2008.

Ms Shevell was married for more than 20 years to American lawyer and political candidate Bruce Blakeman.

She is a board member of New York's transportation authority and a vice-president of her family business.

Tell you what though, they both don't look bad for their ages. He is 68 and she is 51!! They could easily be 20 years younger, esp in this photo.

Yeah you are right she is hot, I am not sure about him though. Do you think she would be with him though if he were a nobody being as hot as she is? Well I guess no-one could say either way. But you must admit money can (to some people) make some people more attractive than they are, and I go back to Donald Trump again as an example

i find it rather sad that with all of his money and linda gone that he has never seemed content to be a bachelor and stay single. he is one of the few man alive at his age that could party with a different female every night for probably the rest of his life.

he and linda obviously had a good thing going. he was already a known person when they married but they seemed to have real love and grew together during their marriage - which is basically uncommon when marriage happens involving a famous person. he was beyond lucky to have such a good relationship once and i highly doubt he will ever have such a good relationship again.

hell, what am i saying "they seemed to have real love and grew together during their marriage - which is basically uncommon when marriage happens involving a famous person." these are things that seem to be uncommon nowadays in any marriage regardless of fame or fortune of either party.

i highly doubt that he will, but i hope he finds lasting happiness with this one.
