Re: Russia Jets Make 'simulated Attack' Passes Near USS Donald Cook
Naive statement. You live in safety in Canada and not even close to Russia. The American presence is more than welcome here in the Baltic. Russia is expansionist. If it weren't for NATO, the Baltic states would be 'assimilated' as the Crimea.

Re: Russia Jets Make 'simulated Attack' Passes Near USS Donald Cook
It's not unusual for Russia to buzz NATO warplanes or other military assets. If Russia really wanted to scare the bejeebus out of the military, they wouldn't be using ancient and stealthless aircraft. The latest Russian Sukhoi warplanes are F22 and F35 killers and something the US is actually concerned about, rather than the ancient aircraft involved in the fly-by. The US Navy is well aware that the aircraft involved in the fly-by posed no threat and could have easily been shot down well beyond the range in which the aircraft posed a threat. |

Re: Russia Jets Make 'simulated Attack' Passes Near USS Donald Cook
Just so you know Russia sends warships to Cuba all the time. Which is just a little more than 70 miles off our coast. And their ships and subs have been spotted off our east coast as well. And we do not send jets buzzing over their heads. And our ships were in International waters, following International laws and were within their rights to navigate there. But I'll tell you what America does, we observe them. But we don't interfere with their rights to navigate international waters. |
