Red Hartebeest Attacks Mountain Biker

A speeding cyclist is thrown from his bike after being mown down by a charging Red Hartebeest in an incredible video sweeping the web.
More than one million people have logged on to watch South African mountain biker Evan van der Spuy being rugby tackled by the beast in the 24 hours since the footage was posted online.

Unlucky Evan was taking part in a race across South Africa's Albert Falls Dam and Game Reserve when he was struck by the rampaging antelope — a red hartebeest, weighing up to 330lb.

The impact and fall shattered his helmet — but amazingly Evan escaped unhurt.
His 'Team Jeep' colleague Travis Walker — who captured the battering on camera — can be heard shouting "Watch the buck!" just seconds before the animal ploughs into him.

And now, thanks to the footage, Evan is fast becoming the internet's latest star as links to his crash sweep social networks.

It has also landed him with a new nickname and Twitter hashtag "#BUCKNORRIS!".

The Nyoni Trail at Albert Falls Dam and Game Reserve is popular with tourists keen to see zebras and antelopes in their natural habitat.

Re: Red Hartebeest Attacks Mountain Biker

it's a red hartebeest

The Red Hartebeest (Alcelaphus caama) is a species[3] of even-toed ungulate in the Bovidae family. It is found in Southern Africa. There are more than 130,000 individuals left. The Red Hartebeest is closely related to the Tsessebe and the Topi.

"Holy Cow" Apu.

The fact that's it's such a wide open space makes it even funnier for me.
