Rapper 50 Cent Files for Bankruptcy
Curtis James Jackson III, the rapper better known as 50 Cent, filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Monday. In court papers filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Hartford, Conn., Mr. Jackson reported assets and debts each in the range of $10 million to $50 million. The attorney listed on the bankruptcy petition couldn’t immediately be reached for comment Monday. I like that show Power though. He is executive producer and a lead actor on the show. So many rich folk just can't seem to manage their money. It does get hard once you get a lot of it. It is easy to spend and people take advantage of you. I hope he gets it worked out. |

i think the more common issue, especially with pop stars (yeah i know he's a hip hop artist but hip hop is pop music in the usa) is they don't seem to realise that the people who buy their middle of the road crap have an attention span of a few years and no loyalty to artists or a scene (pop isn't even a scene). So basically what i'm saying is that unless they are actually musical geniuses who are prepared and able to evolve with pop music they have a shelf life of only a few years..... spending 20 million on a house is all well and fine as long as you continually have millions coming in to maintain it and keep on living the lifestyle.... but if you stop selling albums by the truck load you're gonna be fucked pretty quickly |

He was apparently worth 150 mill at one point. Looks like he fucked up. 50 cent going bankrupt makes zero cents.
