PERKINS TOWNSHIP, Ohio— A Sandusky woman was arrested on Sunday afternoon after she allegedly beat her husband because he refused her sex.
An arrest report obtained by Fox 8 News states that Vera Baaske, 44, of East Perkins Avenue, was taken into custody on Sunday afternoon on a suspicion of domestic violence charge.
Police were called by Baaske on Sunday afternoon around 3:40 p.m. She told police she wanted an officer to come to her home for a domestic dispute.
When officers arrived they questioned Vera's husband, Harold, who said he was attacked by his wife after he told her that he did not feel like having sex.
According to the report, after a day of shopping and a stop at a local bar, Vera and Harold returned home. Harold told officers that Vera wanted to have sex in the basement of the home, but he denied her advances, telling her that her attitude changes when she drinks alcohol. Harold told police that after saying no to the sexual advances, Vera became enraged and began striking him in the face.
Officers did find Harold to have scratches about his face and neck, according to the report.
During questioning, Vera denied Harold's claims, saying she was the one who was attacked.
Officers then questioned the couples' daughter who, according to the report, said as she was walking down the stairs to the basement, saw her mother on top of her father, yelling at him and spitting on him.
The couple's daughter then told authorities that when her mother drinks alcohol she becomes very angry.
Vera Baaske was then taken into custody and later charged with domestic violence. She was ordered held in jail without bond for a night before being released the following day.
Fox 8 News sought comment from Baaske on the incident, but an individual answering the phone at her residence said Baaske was not home.
