Michigan shootings: multiple deaths in Kalamazoo as 'gunman kills randomly'
Four people killed in car park at restaurant and another two at a car dealership, with more wounded, says sheriff’s office

At least six people were fatally shot in western Michigan on Saturday in what police described as a “random act of violence” by a gunman who remained at large.

Around 10pm on Saturday two people were shot outside an automotive dealer in Kalamazoo, Michigan, about 140 miles west of Detroit. A separate fatal shooting occurred outside a restaurant in a neighboring township, leaving four dead.

“These appear to be random acts of violence and we’re actively and aggressively investigating this, at this time,” said Jeff Hadley, chief of Kalamazoo public safety. Wood-TV in western Michigan reported that an eight-year-old child was killed at the restaurant.

Hadley did not disclose specifics of the victims but it is understood a father and son were fatally shot at the dealership while looking at a vehicle.

Police were searching for a suspect described as a white male in his 40s to 50s, driving a blue mid-size Chevrolet SUV. Multiple state agencies were involved in the investigation, including Michigan state police, the Kalamazoo department of public safety, and Kalamazoo county sheriff’s office.

Wood-TV reported that a woman was shot multiple times earlier in the evening but it was unclear whether the incidents were related.

The first shooting occurred at Meadows Townhomes, 5066 Meadows Blvd., in Richland Township, around 6 p.m. There, a woman was shot in the parking lot. She remains in serious condition at Borgess Medical Center.

A second shooting occurred at Seelye Ford, 4102 Stadium Drive in Kalamazoo, shortly before 10:30 p.m., where two men, believed to be a father and son who were looking at a vehicle, were shot and killed in the parking lot.

Around 10:30 p.m., four people were shot and killed in vehicles in the parking lot of Cracker Barrel, 5581 Cracker Barrel Blvd., off of 9th Street in Oshtemo Township west of the city. A fifth person shot at that scene later died of her injuries. She was 14.

Hadley announced early Sunday morning he would hold a press conference at the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety headquarters at 7 a.m.

Police say the suspect was arrested at about 12:40 a.m. at Ransom and Porter streets in Kalamazoo. According to Michigan State Police, the suspect is a 45-year-old white man from Kalamazoo. Police said weapons were found in his vehicle.

"These are random murders," Matyas said. “This is your worst case scenario."

Apparently he took fares in between the attacks

A man suspected of shooting six people dead was an Uber driver who allegedly took fares between the attacks in Michigan, it has been reported.

Police are said to be investigating claims Jason Brian Dalton, 45, dropped off a group of people at a hotel before going to a next door restaurant and opening fire on two cars and killing four.

It is native american....It means river mirage ...or something like that...Its slightly different in cherokee, though...and muscogean is the closese Language I know.
