Someone was able to get close enough to kill the mother. I don't think this was an unapproachable feral. I'm not saying that this was no big deal - it is. The issue I have is that it seems the animals were killed in a cruel manner. If they were euthanized quickly and painlessly, I would have no problem with it.  |

The feral cat around my place lets me get close enough to hit it with a bludgeon, were I so inclined, but swipes at me when my hand comes close. So they can be approachable, but not handleable. Either way, if it was their cat, I doubt they would have just left it outside with a new litter of kittens. |

I've seen many occasions of such. Half of them are baffled as to why the kittens are disappearing(predators). The other half don't give a shit, because mom will be popping out another litter in no time. I hate people.  |

I think the point here is that someone MURDERED thos kittens and took extreme pleasure in doing so. He probably drowned them over and over to watch the life slowly drift from their eyes, then when he got bored, sunk his knife (i bet you its a nice folding tactical knife) into each cat. Its easy to attract the mother by stealing a kitten and holding it out. Yes, it sounds like someone practicing and honing their bloodlust. Matter of time til he takes a human life.

The farmer I used to live beside up in Scotland used to be forever killing feral cats due to their damage from defecating and urinating on the barley and animal feed. Cats roaming the area that weren't neutered caused problems. But this incident is pure sadistic violence |
