Re: Paramedics Shocked at Gruesome Discovery
She definitely had to have psych issues because just knowing of her sisters death and associating that death smell with her would have been unthinkable. |

Re: Paramedics Shocked at Gruesome Discovery
Olfactory fatigue, possibly. That happens with hydrogen sulfide, and a rotting body produces copious amounts of it. It's like that Hoarders episode with the couple who's septic tank was backing up into their home. |

Re: Paramedics Shocked at Gruesome Discovery
I have heard on advertisements the term "nose blind". I didn't know that it would be so in such extreme cases. H-2-S would have to work somewhat like lidocane benzocaine or novacane I suppose. ...just numb the offactories just like any topical painkiller. I am curious as to how this case is disposed of for more reasons than one now. |

Re: Paramedics Shocked at Gruesome Discovery
I've heard of cases like this before. People lose a loved one, their only companion, and can't bear to let them go, and deal with the funeral etc, so they keep the body. As long as she wasn't gaining financially from it, ie collecting benefits in her name etc, it's just a case of failing to report a death and preventing burial. Unlikely to be murder, I'd guess.

Re: Paramedics Shocked at Gruesome Discovery
You know...??? when I lost my baby son, I totally went on autopilot. I remember everything, yet Um still sort of numb to it all, and I have no doubt that if not for the rest of my family..my aunt "the rock" of the family, I would have done nothing.
