Re: North Korean Soldier Defected in a Hail of Bullets
It would help if someone knowledgeable would put a red line where the border actually is. It looks like they were running around in a complex of buildings, and it's hard to tell where things are at.

Re: North Korean Soldier Defected in a Hail of Bullets
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Wq9Oy0VWdw...0/DSC00856.JPG You should be able to get an idea of the line with this picture. In the infrared shot, the lack of other soldiers strikes me as odd. I've visited the DMZ before and it is heavily guarded on the S. Korean side. Why weren't there more soldiers to return fire to the North...? |

Re: North Korean Soldier Defected in a Hail of Bullets
They did what they are supposed to do. De-escalation. South soldiers weren't there because bullets would have been flying towards them. Then they likely would return fire, and a gun battle would take place. Which is not what the south wants. The North broke the agreement by firing weapons towards the border. That was an extremely stupid thing to do, because if Southern soldiers were killed, things could have turned ugly real quick. The Southern soldiers likely saw what was happening, and they took cover and just let it play out. Instead of involving themselves in the situation. |

Re: North Korean Soldier Defected in a Hail of Bullets
Also goes to show how shitty the North is. Gunning down their own with bullets to the back. Not too mention, their soldier, in terrible health. Hypotitus, intentional worms, and a couple other treatable conditions. |

Re: North Korean Soldier Defected in a Hail of Bullets
THANKS! very much. In all the news coverage, that is the first clear picture I have seen of the area. Usually it's just buildings through trees.
