35-year-old British citizen of Syrian descent, identified as Jihad al-Shamie, drove a car into a crowd of pedestrians outside the synagogue before exiting the vehicle and stabbing people with a knife.

He was wearing what appeared to be an explosive vest, though it was later confirmed to be non-functional.

Worshippers reportedly prevented him from entering the building by barricading the doors.

Two Jewish men were killed: Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66.

Three others were seriously injured—one from a stab wound, one from being hit by the car, and one possibly from police action to stop the attacker and remain in hospital.

The 35-year-old is understood to have entered the UK as a young child and been granted British citizenship in 2006, when he was around the age of 16.

Al-Shamie’s name has not appeared in initial searches of police and security service records, officials said, and he is not thought to have been under investigation.

GMP said officers were “working to understand the motivation behind the attack” and confirmed the killer had not been referred to Prevent, the government’s anti-radicalisation scheme.

He appears to have lived in Prestwich, around two miles from the scene and his name is linked to a property in the town.

Reports suggest Al-Shamie’s father is a trauma surgeon who worked for several NGO's in warzones across the world.

Al-Shamie is understood to have worked as a tutor teaching English and computer programming.

Three other people have been arrested on suspicion of planning a terror attack in connection with the killings.

It is “too early” to say if there was a terrorist cell behind the attack on Greater Manchester, the Home Secretary said.

I watched a short clip on ITV News on YouTube. It showed that in the early mornings, maybe not every morning, police drive out immigrants with criminal records whose residency has been revoked. They are then sent by plane to Romania. I’m wondering if this also includes people who entered illegally or applied for asylum. Can someone from the UK confirm this?

If the terrorist had managed to evade capture until the SAS arrived on scene shortly afterwards they'd have drilled him like a block of Swiss cheese. Same principle take no risks.

But the UK cops get fucked for anything seen as slightly excessive force, suspended, taken to court and some go to prison because of our spineless politicians.
