Just Named World's Largest Dog
A Great Dane named George has been crowned the "world tallest dog”, Guinness World Record officials anounced this week. Giant George measures 110 centimeters (43in) from paw to shoulder. This 111 kilograms of dog stands an incredible 2.2 meter when on his hind legs. George is not only the official record holder for both the tallest living dog, he even is the tallest dog ever. However, some argue that the previous record holder, a Dane named Titan, is still the world tallest. In contrast with George, the smallest dogs in the world only measure some 8 centimeters. |

Re: Just Named World's Largest Dog
Jokes and cuteness aside, Dane's already have a hear that is too small for their bodies, the reason they don't live that long...so this dog, bred for his size instead of "quality" will probably have an even shorter life.

Re: Just Named World's Largest Dog
heres Zeus.. kinda looks like the same owner.. idk how old your story is.. but this is the new record holder. A handout picture released by Guinness World Records on September 13, 2012 and taken on November 3, 2011 shows 3 year-old Great Dane called Zeus from Otsego, Michigan in the US which is featured in the new Guinness World Records 2013 book as the tallest dog ever, measuring 111.8 cm (44 in) from foot to withers and Zeus's owner Denise Doorlag. A Great Dane who towers 2.2 meters (7 feet 4 inches) on his hind legs is named the tallest dog ever recorded in the latest Guinness Book of World Records launched on September 13, 2012. The giant canine from Michigan in the United States eats an entire 14-kilogram (30-pound) bag of food every day and weighs in at 70.3 kilograms, the 57th edition of the global records book says. From left, Zeus sits on Nicholas Doorlag as Denise and Kevin Doorlag sit close by on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012 in Otsego, Mich. The Guinness World Records 2013 recognizes Zeus as the world's Tallest Dog. The 3-year-old measures 44 inches from foot to shoulder. Standing on his hind legs, Zeus stretches to 7-foot-4 and towers over his owner, Denise Doorlag. Zeus is just an inch taller than the previous record-holder, Giant George. Zeus weighs 155 pounds and eats a 30-pound bag of food every two weeks. Zeus stands over the Doorlag's other dog on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012 in Otsego, Mich. The Guinness World Records 2013 recognizes Zeus as the world's Tallest Dog. In an undated photo provided by Guinness World Records 2013 Book, Zeus drinks from the kitchen faucet in Otsego, Mich. The Great Dane is now officially the world's tallest canine according to the record book. The 3-year-old measures 44 inches from foot to shoulder. Standing on his hind legs, Zeus measures 7-foot-4. |
