Huge Fire in block of Flats London
A fire broke out on the 2nd floor at just after 1am this morning. It spread quickly to the 24th floor and I suspect many people were asleep. Likely with the speed that it spread it was too late to escape. Various reports of people screaming and trying to get attention with flash lights on their mobile phones. Also reports of people calling loved one's saying that they weren't going to make it out. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/...er-road-london It was only in November last year that residents had raised concerns as to the saftey of the building. https://grenfellactiongroup.wordpres...ing-with-fire/ |

Re: Huge Fire in block of Flats London
CNN says witnesses have reported people jumping. Based on the video I've seen, I understand why. I've never seen a building so engulfed, and it must be instinct to get away from the heat any way you can.

I heard it's a building that specifically is for muzzy/Middle Eastern "refugees" , if so awesome.

Re: Huge Fire in block of Flats London
Yeah 7am now. They'd done a refurb on the building 2 years ago and put some kind of PVC cladding up on the outside of the whole building. Looks like this caused it to spread so quickly.
