Re: Homeless Makes Bed and Blanket for His Dog
In America, you have to have proper funds/resources to be able to care for your animal. If something happens, you have to be able to get it medical care, or it can be taken away from you. Homeless people are allowed to have animals, as long as it looks like all the basic needs are being met and they're licensed/vaccinated. If you don't have the resources to properly care for an animal, you cannot help it when it gets sick - which means you are causing it to suffer. Sleeping outside and travelling the road are not the problem - that's an awesome life for a dog. |

Re: Homeless Makes Bed and Blanket for His Dog
Look guys my point is that majority of the dogs that these homeless people own are cute and good looking dogs. They would have no problem getting a real home with a family that can properly feed and care for the dog. This guy is great for giving the dog the bed and blanket but it doesn't change the fact that the dog is forced to be homeless too. Not to mention the fact that majority of homeless people feed the dogs human food and never dog food. So the dog is not getting the proper nutrients a healthy dog requires. It's just my opinion and it would be amazing if people who disagree with me could act like adults about it. But sadly most people talk out their asses and act like children about it. But hey, I digress. |

Re: Homeless Makes Bed and Blanket for His Dog
My husband and I are homeless, and we own a PitBull named, what else, Gutter. We found him in downtown ft. Lauderdale almost one year ago. He was about 35 lbs and severely dehydrated. We gave him all fresh water from a gallon jug we always carry with us. Then we flew sign for a few hours while he relaxed in the shade (it gets really fucking hot in south Florida, guys). We bought him dog food, but he couldn't keep it down so we used our food stamps to buy him infant cereal, which is basically oatmeal. He took to that for a few days and slowly got him eating solid food mixed with soft. Once he pit on ten or so pounds, my husband and I had to find a different place to camp up. He followed us without even needing a leash. He now knows multiple commands, gets to play outside, swim, play fetch, and still cuddle between his forever parents. We did this all on the road and street. By the way, my dog hitchhiked across four states, and has marked more territory than most. He eats like a monster and loves kittens and other dogs, whether they come from the street or a home. He barks at people or critters that come near while we all sleep, he warns us when he doesn't like someone by sitting on our feet or laps of we're sitting down. We've been stopped by many a police officer who felt more at ease around our pit than other people with different breeds in somebody's home. Our dog will never see a kennel our cage our know what it is to have a chain around him. So, you shit can fuck right off. We all love each other, he takes care of is, we take care of him. And we do it being cruddy, ingenious, dirty broke fucking bums |

Re: Homeless Makes Bed and Blanket for His Dog
I feel sorry for homeless dogs too. I worry about them being hungry and shit. But when you think about it, a homeless dog has it better than a dog in the pound. At least the dog had someone who cares for it. Millions of dogs don't even have that. |
