I am so angry right now after reading this. This shit has to stop, Harris county has been destroyed by the libs of houston for decades now. You ruined an entire city, you have paved over and destroyed all but one indigenous settlement (in which only a hand full of good ol boys, republicans, and myself, a lonely radical right wing historian with a fervor for human rights, have worked together for over 30 years to protect the last settlement, which may be paved over this year.) and yet the city gives out money to third world countries to protect their land while destroying one of the most diverse ecosystems on all of Texas (Harris county contains 3 distinct ecosystems and is the most deforested county in the nation), you tax those who actually work while rewarding those who abandon their children, and now this. So, this guy paid back child support but not enough to not be in contempt? Seems kind of backwards to lock someone up for not paying child support. How can they pay when they are in prison? Unless being in prison for a bit makes them start paying when they get out? I have a friend who hasn't been paid by her child's father for over a year now. The child is 16 and he didn't start paying until she was 9. And when I say he was paying, I mean the state took the money directly out of his check and sent it to my friend. And his employment has been spotty over the last so many years because once the state caught up to him and started taking out the child support, he would quit his job. What a scumbag. How do you not take care of your children?
