And this is exactly why I have yet to go hunting: because even in the great "Sportsman's Paradise" that is the state of Louisiana, I have yet to meet a single so-called hunter who will actually show me how to clean and harvest prey.

Yeah I was taught to be pretty proficient with a bow by my mom which I believe is a skilled way to take down an animal but the fact always remains, that I don't need to kill an animal |

“I had no idea that the lion I took was a known, local favorite, was collared and part of a study until the end of the hunt. I deeply regret that my pursuit of an activity I love and practice responsibly and legally resulted in the taking of this lion.” He is so full of shit. It should have been CLEARLY obvious that it wasn't just any old lion just roaming around. Why did he think he was getting paid THAT MUCH? I don't understand certain people, I really don't. |

Re: Cecil the Lion's Brother Jericho Shot Dead by Poachers in Zimbabwean Park
Shooting him with a crossbow and following him for two days is what really puts it over the top, for me. Intentionally causing pain and prolonged suffering, is cause for physical punishment. Especially, since he's done this on multiple occasions. People say that it's just an animal and that its just one lion. It's much bigger and more damaging than that. Since the species is endangered, and killing one often results in the death of many cubs, it's a much bigger offense. Theatening an entire species is more detrimental than killing people. Yeah, you break hearts when you kill someone's family member, but you don't rip a permanent hole in the natural ecosystem. Humans are generally more important than a singular animal. A species of animal is more important than a singular human. Poaching endangered species should be an immediate death sentence. I've heard that it is, for some. |
