Toronto is one of the safest big cities.

The big gang problem in canada is within the native community, more in manitoba or sask... with that comes drug issues and homicide again highest murder rate is in winnapeg for like 20 years running is it not? Toronto has a 2.0 per 100k murder rate clinging to the national average... I think thunder bay is worse then toronto.

Safer than vancouver thanks to east van another place with arguably the biggest heroin problem in the country.

Winnipeg, Halifax and Edmonton are always top 5.... Surrey is up there too.
You guys have had some really serious gun issues lately though.

rob666 for the record, I have nothing against Scotians. One of my best buds comes from Halifax.

East Van isn't quite as bad as the media makes it out to be.

Plus Vancouver is 10-30 degrees warmer in the winter, there's no air pollution, the summers are not a foul steambath, we have beautiful mountains, it's right on the ocean, and the streets are clean enough not to dirty one's shoes and don't stink like sewage.

I still wanna see HogTown though.

Surrey is full of gangs and drugs. It's The Armpit of the Fraser Valley. The street my relatives live on is safe, but three blocks away is a different story.

One year after Xmas Day dinner I was heading home and we heard a gunshot (or a firecracker, I'm optimistic) and my cousin joked, "Just another day in Surrey."

Well ask Rob, but Trailer Park Boys was filmed and set in Halifax, but TPB is just good ol' Maritime fiction. (The show could take place in Surrey or East Van and be as authentic.
