Burglars Report Victim's Kiddie Porn to Cops

The burglars, a 19-year-old and a juvenile, broke into a barn owned by Kraig Stockard, 54, of Delhi, Calif., and stole about 50 CDs they thought were blank, according to a statement from Deputy Tom MacKenzie of the Merced County Sheriff's Department. When the thieves downloaded the discs, they discovered the child porn, the statement said. They went straight to police, despite knowing that they'd be admitting the burglary. Police searched Stockard's property and seized three more computers and three laptops, along with several external hard drives, according to CNN. Police said more than 30 computer discs had child pornography on them. Investigators said Stockard has been downloading child porn since 2004. He was booked for possession of child pornography and posted $25,000 bail. The two burglary suspects who reported Stockard have not been arrested. |

As far as I am concerned it has nothing to do with "honour among criminals" but rather a a sense of civil duty to report such a disgusting crime as child pornography is, in my opinion the kids should be in a bit of trouble but should be thanked for their courage to come foward and admit their crimes in order to put a worse offender behind bars, I personally say kudos to the thieves for turning that sick son of a bitch in even knowing they could be in trouble themselves.

They should be charged and atleast have the piss scared out of them. Unfortunately the only way the evidence could implicate the pedophile is if it is evidence in the burglary charge, if the cds are brought into evidence solely for the child porn charge it came into existance illegally, if it is "discovered" as a part of the burglary it came to exhist as a part of legal prosecution.

The child porn find was a "by the way" (?) of the burglary - they should still be arrested.
