Re: Baltimore Suspends 6 Police Officers in Inquiry in Death of Freddie Gray
Most are ex military, and are hired over people that attend community colleges in law enforcement that never served. And most training courses are identicle to urban warfare invasions. Most suspect handling is the same in enemy capture tactics. Now in public relations are same training as enemy interrogations. Most equipment acquired is identical as military urban warfare packs. |

Re: Baltimore Suspends 6 Police Officers in Inquiry in Death of Freddie Gray
I have a 14 year old who was watching this unfold last night on the news with me. He is fortunate, not because he comes from a good home, or because he is white, or because he is in all honors classes and has earned straight A's since 1st grade, not because he volunteers his time and is active in more positive school related activities than I care to list on here....he is fortunate because he has two parents who have brought him up right. We have taught him right from wrong. He is not out running the streets, doing drugs or hanging out with gangs. That is a choice WE made as his parents to make sure he lives a full, happy life. Where the hell are the parents in this city? NOT doing their jobs, that is for sure. |

Probably not the rule of thumb in rural Barney fife areas, although plenty of country towns are getting hip to it. In the major metros though, LEO act more like they are in Iraq with the "everyone is assumed the enemy" attitudes because it was and is considered more affective in urban warfare situation. |

You guys are kidding right? Barely any patrol cops, the ones out there gunning dudes down for running away or tackling and beating someone to death, have military experience. Maybe 1 in 10. The ones you are talking about probably have 100+ hours Call of Duty military training though. lmao

Re: Baltimore Suspends 6 Police Officers in Inquiry in Death of Freddie Gray
Every single day, they have to have that mindset. To put it in perspective, who else goes to work every day, to simply do their job, taking the chance they won't be coming home that night? It's a thankless, dangerous job, it really is. The majority of the public they serve hates them, not because of something done personally to them. |

Never mind, a clueless brick wall learned how to post on DR. Try reading up on the 1033 program. You will learn police agencies have been quietly transforming into a militant scale force, using the war on drugs as its escuse. Along with that transformation included military urban warfare training, and included to a prioritize hiring campaign of ex-military personal. |
