Re: Baby Drowns While Mother's on Facebook

The thing that got me about the incident was not only her ignorance about leaving a baby unattended in the bath, but that she knew about his seizure incident and still left him unattended. Very sad that he had to pay the price for his mother's ignorance and addiction.

TRUE, but remember.....and GOD KNOWS I AM NOT DEFENDING ADDICTS: Some accidents WILL HAPPEN....they WILL happen to children of addicts, and they may have NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PARENTS ADDICTION.

I know perfectly straight and sober parents that make the same mistakes.

Re: Baby Drowns While Mother's on Facebook

Of course but it was her internet addiction that led to the incident. I will have to find a more indepth article. She was addicted to that game (such as the Farmville mom) and that led her to be preoccupied for over 10 min!!! She claimed ignorance on leaving the baby unattended and maybe that is true, I don't know her situation, but if it had not been for that internet/facebook addiction she would have probably been with the child. It would be like a parent leaving the baby to go shoot up or smoke crack. Internet addiction is a strong addiction that people need help for. Remember the 5 month old that starved to death while his parents were at the internet cafe raising a cyber child?

My God! I don't remember reading about that cyber-baby incident, but I totally believe you. I do remember the Farmville mom.

I feel for the moms loss. However, she should face punishment and lose all parental rights

Re: Baby Drowns While Mother's on Facebook

even when I had a sitter stay with me and do the housekeeping when my babies were small, I never elft them in the bath alone.....even when they were in their bath seats!

I jsut do not understand that. ANYTHING....any freak occurrence can happen.....and have happened.....for the grace of GOD, not to me...!!!
